The Flight of Five’s Impact on a Young Nation

The Erie Canal has a deep and rich history.  From the initial inception to the earlier, travelers, canal men and women, and into the present. The canal has impacted each community it touches in a significant way.

As we move forward to the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Erie Canal, it is important to tell the story of the building, the early travelers, and the current rehabilitation of the Flight of Five locks required to reach the summit and Lake Erie.

It is an honor to be a small part of the funding for this documentary. I encourage others to join me in telling the story of the Flight of Five, the impact on both Lockport and the young nation, and to introduce others to this marvel in Lockport NY.
